Two-Factor Authentication and Account Security

Many crypto losses do not involve fancy hacks — they come from compromised accounts and reused passwords. Basic account security goes a long way.

Use app-based 2FA

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step beyond your password. Prefer an authenticator app or a hardware security key over SMS, which is vulnerable to “SIM-swap” attacks where a criminal hijacks your phone number.

Passwords and hygiene

Use a password manager to create strong, unique passwords for every exchange and email account, and secure the email account itself — it is the master key to password resets. On self-custody wallets, remember that no 2FA protects a leaked seed phrase; that must be kept offline and private.

Educational content, not financial advice. Crypto is volatile and you can lose money. Do your own research. Crypto Ruble Coins is a news and education publication — not an exchange, conversion, or off-ramp service.
