The yields can look attractive, but so are the risks.<\/p>\n<h2>Providing liquidity<\/h2>\n<p>Decentralized exchanges need pools of tokens to enable trading. Users who deposit into these pools earn a share of trading fees. In return they take on &#8220;impermanent loss&#8221; \u2014 a loss relative to simply holding \u2014 when prices move.<\/p>\n<h2>Chasing yield<\/h2>\n<p>Protocols often add token rewards on top, producing eye-catching advertised returns.
